I am currently an assistant professor in Finance at Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University. My work focuses on banking, financial stability, macrofinance, and corporate governance. I am on leave from Sabancı University, where I have been an Assistant Professor of Finance since 2019 and previously served as Director of the Sabancı University Corporate Governance Forum (CGFT). Earlier, I worked at the World Bank as a Research Economist (2015–2019), where he led the Global Financial Developtment Report, and have held consultant roles with the World Bank, the EBRD, and the Inter-American Development Bank; my visiting appointments include BOFIT at the Bank of Finland (Summer 2022) and the Department of Finance at NYU Stern (2013). I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Tilburg University.
